Best Friends

About 80 years ago, two little girls named Rose and Nellie grew up in Mukachevo, Ukraine. They were the best of friends and couldn’t be separated.

Torn Apart

In 1944, WWII invaded their lives and ravaged their families. They were torn apart, with Nellie relocating to Australia, and Rose leaving for Brooklyn, NY.

Rebuilding

Both Rose and Nellie rebuilt their lives. They met their husbands, started families, and watched their children grow up.

Rebuilding

Nellie’s son decided to move to America to attend school and begin working. Rose’s son, though he preferred softball, also attended school and began to work.

A Chance Partnership

Nellie came to America to visit her son in New York. During her stay she was able to locate Rose, and after 55 years, they were reunited.
As they spoke about their lives and their children, they came to the realization that their sons, Jacob Rosenberg (son of Rose) and James Bernath (son of Nellie), are business partners in New York.

Miracles Can Happen

Even though Rose and Nellie were torn apart at a young age, when there is true care and love for one another, miracles can happen. Their sons continue to provide business owners and affluent families with trusted accounting, tax and wealth management advice after over 30 years of partnership.

1986

Establishment of Bernath & Rosenberg, P.C. – accounting, tax, and audit services

1999

Jacob Rosenberg & Jim Bernath each receive designations of Certified Financial Planner® & Personal Financial Specialist and begin offering wealth management services to clients

2004

Bernath & Rosenberg, P.C. moves to expanded offices at 1430 Broadway

2008

Firm continues to expand services within tax, accounting, audit & wealth management, hires additional staff to support new service offerings, including the appointment of Benjamin Berger as the firm’s third partner

2010

Firm expands office space to accommodate for growth to now 25 employees

2014

Bernath & Rosenberg expands, opens satellite location on Monsey, NY

2015

Jacob Rosenberg recognized and celebrated for 13th year running as a top financial advisor at Cetera Financial Specialists

2015

Bernath & Rosenberg continues to expand, adding additional
employees and office space

2015

Firm opens a third location in Howell, New Jersey

2016

Bernath & Rosenberg names Joseph Schuck and Aaron Katz as the firm’s fourth and fifth partners
